Emile Schweikert is the managing partner of Bienne Technology LLC. He is concurrently professor of chemistry and director of the Center for Chemical Characterization & Analysis at Texas A&M University. His research centered originally on the study and application of nuclear and atomic excitation for ultra-trace isotopic/elemental analysis. His contributions in that field have been recognized with the George Hevesy Medal. His current research focus is on the molecular characterization of nano-volumes and the accurate detection of analytes in sub-attomol quantities. He pioneered the use of hypervelocity nanoprojectiles in the event-by-event bombardment detection mode for nanoscale molecular surface analysis. He is the recipient of the EAS Award for “exceptional contributions in mass spectrometry”.
